Purpose of the PLC

The purpose of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church Pathways Learning Center is to establish a full-time, nonprofit Christian weekday program of childcare as a way to extend the ministry of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church. We accomplish this by providing care, education, and development for each child enrolled to his/her greatest potential - spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially. We also provide a program of ministry and outreach to the families of the children enrolled.

After-School Care & Summer Programs

We offer after school Care for Pre-K up to 5th grade. This program offers opportunities for early child development meeting the needs of our members. Our PLC elevates traditional drop-in child care to include healthy eating, fun physical activity, positive relationships, and enriching activities. We do offer drop ins upon space availability.

Teachers

Our teachers are trained in child development allowing them to implement various teaching styles to most effectively meet the needs of each individual child. Teachers promote positive guidance and and age appropriate environment for your preschooler. They are also certified in First Aid and CPR in order to ensure the health and well being of your child while they are in our care.

Curriculum

Our PLC program provides a variety of hands on learning experiences. Your child will learn through centers including art, music, blocks, books/reading, home living, nature, puzzles, manipulatives, and writing. Learning concepts such as creative expression, problem solving, and thinking skills are taught and reinforced through the school year, and large and small motor skills are enhanced by daily activities. Positive self esteem is developed through acceptance and accomplishments in the classroom.
We use the WEE Learn Curriculum, a Bible based curriculum that is published by Lifeway and is the foundation for the age appropriate activities implemented in the classrooms.
Our three Pre-K classrooms use Frog Street Curriculum to compliment our WEE Learn; this aids in helping children who are getting ready to enter Kindergarten.
